Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin is opening a new freestanding clinic on the southeast portion of the mall. It is in the final stages of construction and is slated to open this summer. Wasabi Sushi Lounge recently relocated to the mall from a previous spot near the corner of Bluemound and Moorland roads in Brookfield. The Asian-inspired eatery is occupying a 6,square-foot space, near Barnes and Noble, which was long home to clothier The Limited.
Earlier in the winter, BliNK Artisan Boutique also set up shop within the mall, operating from a 4,square-foot space and serving as a collective for various artisans and makers in Waukesha and Milwaukee counties.
In a statement discussing the pair of openings, Scott Oleson, general manager, said the additions were natural fits for the mall. Stacey Keating, spokeswoman for CBL and Associates Properties, the Tennessee-based company that owns the mall, said a number of additional concrete and conceptual announcements are anticipated as the year continues unfolding.
A number of additional new businesses are expected to begin operations within the mall and on adjacent outlots. Among them is Orthopedic Associates of Wisconsin, which will occupy a portion of the former Sears parking lot. Another confirmed addition, Keating said, is a new salon, Celebrity Status Barber and Beauty, which will operate inside the mall and feature haircuts and styling. A spokesperson for Bayshore in Glendale said as its retailers resume operations, individual guidelines are set by each store or restaurant.
The malls had been closed since March 17 when Gov. Tony Evers' administration ordered statewide closures for places like churches, malls, bars, restaurants and gyms as a measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. That day a ban on gatherings of 10 or more people also went into effect. At that time, there were 72 cases of the virus in Wisconsin. Two months later, there are nearly 12, cases in the state and deaths, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

Prime location with very little attraction. The only thing they have done to improve the area is adding new fast food restaurants. They are average at best. We have very little reason to go there and it is only a mile from our home. Still have to order online. This mall is very out dated, built back in the late 60's.
Very old school lay out. Needs a lot of improvements to keep up with today's malls. But I guess if you seen one mall you have seen them all.

It's hard to keep a retail store alive. Higher end stores - but not those that are overly expensive or exclusive. Department stores carry mid to better brands of clothing that seem to lean towards the professional, as opposed to having lots of stores featuring very inexpensive clothing for juniors.
